Bloodsucker

I had an idea of making a film, a homage to the best vampire horror movie ever made. In this version the roles are switched. The old and gullible count would have been stripped of all his possessions by a young and devious real estate agent. I was planning a stop motion capture animation, with CG rendered finish. I couldn't raise funds for it, so after the pre-production the project halted.

The Urban Yeti

I have a project in progress about imaginary wildlife in the city. It would be a series of 3D animation composed on shot footage. The shots should be recorded with hand-held cameras and the participants kept unaware that they are being filmed - like a wildlife documentary. Each episode would present one absurd, cute and funny critter. The first one is the shy and secretive Urban Yeti. This guy would run around in the streets, always hiding, scavenge dustbins and happily hump everything, that can't run away from him- stray dogs, statues, parking cars, bystanders. For he doesn't know what his spouse should be like, he hits on anything that appears suitable for mating...

Epic Storyboard

This is a storyboard we did in a rush. It was designed for an online, real-time, fantasy strategy game. I wrote the script, drew the panels, my colleague did the colors and we put together a presentation- all within a few days. And of course this wasn't even the first version! We are still waiting for the client's response. I changed the name of the characters to protect the innocent, i.e.: to avoid copyright issues.

Rhino's Skin

This was a university project led and moderated by Zsolt Richly: choose a fable and create characters and backgrounds and define the style of animation for it. As a little kid I loved Rudyard Kipling's tales very much, so I chose "How The Rhinoceros Got His Skin" from his "Just so stories". My target audience was pre-schoolers, so I went with a colored pencil style. You can read and/or listen to the story here.

Rough sketches with felt tip marker pen:

On Stage: Diva

A character I drew for a personal project: the Diva! I plan to create characters based on the emblematic archetype figures of the stage: the metalhead, the boy band, the rapstar, the punk, etc. She is the first one of this series.

Black Candy

A commissioned job for a sweets manufacturing company - the ideal couple for a 3D/CG animated campaign. They wanted the average Joe and Jane, regardless that there is no such people. An animated character should be special in some way - either by nature (actions) or by appearance. They didn't know what they were looking for and as an art director and character designer - I couldn't help them finding it. Nevertheless we did numerous versions, with different proportions, accessories, etc. Not suprisingly the project was cancelled...

Ponaturi

Ponaturi are goblin-like creatures in maori mythology. They are mean, hostile and beastlike and spend their daytime underwater in the sea to avoid sunlight. I'm a big fan of tribal cultures and fairy folk - so it was inevitable to draw a few versions for the ponaturi.

Beasties

A commissioned work I made for a health and fitness centre. The idea was to motivate club members by presenting their own body as a challenge. I designed characters from vital organs and displayed them in a classic horror poster environment.

Here are some rough pencil sketches:
