This beast is a hybrid between an elephant and the mythical lamassu. I was planning to draw twin creatures - as the shedu and lamassu were always pictured together as a grisly pair. I chose a more up-to-date empire than the Assyrian, so I thought an elephant with stars and an ass with stripes would fit fine for demonic monsters. It started out as a quick pencil sketch then I started to experiment with brushes and textures. I like the result so I decided to post it, though its sibling still awaits to be drawn.
